Wye Valley (Demolition Derby) 12-14th October 2018

Post by Pirate » Wed Sep 26, 2018 7:47 am

Well the time has come for me to stop (just for a min), looking at those late night internet female art work and announce this year's annual weekend of mass destruction...THE WYE VALLEY. With the usual TALL tails and Bull Shit around the camp fire.

For those who haven't partaken, the Wye in a nutshell:

You arrive on Friday with MOTORCYCLE. Saturday the Wye tries to destroy both man and machine. Sunday you return home with what's left of MOTORCYCLE, oh and to round it off some member called Pirate tries to kill you off on Friday with the BBQ. PLEASE,PLEASE, PLEASE bring your sense of humour

ACCOMMODATION

The Scout hut sleeps around ten. please bring you own camp bed/air bed. Toilets and shower are provided together with plenty of tea and coffee.

For those hardy souls there is plenty of room for camping on the grass area outside, together with a fire pit which is normally kept going throughout the weekend.

Vanping is available but please keep off the grass and space is limited so if you're bringing a motor home please be aware it is first come first served. Last year Shiney had to park near the log pile and his van was in danger from flying wood being chopped. I take no responsability for any damage caused.

TRADE STAND

Once again we will be joined by the ever faithfull Sportax stand with Minter on hand to offer help, repairs and that bit of Bling you 'Just must have'! He will be bringing the MT Riders Club shop so please contact him for any special club requests.

GRUB

Friday BBQ (Pirate's poison), Saturday meal over in pub around about 19.30ish. Please see seperate post for menu. Due to the grumbles over the last couple of years regarding the ever increasing price from the cafe over the road, Breakfast will be provided and included in the cost for both sat/sun.

Once again the usual cans of booze (honesty box} will be provided at ÂŁ1 per can. I say this every year, I don't drink so please advise on the sort of cans wanted otherwise don't complain if all I get is John Smiths and StrongBow....Stella for Steve White :)

Cost is ÂŁ38 and all profit goes to the Scout Association. Please make payments to my Swiss Bank Account (in advance);

Sorry Simon, I can't make this weekend as it's too far for me to travel at the moment as i'm still recovering from Deep Vein Thrombosis and minor surgery.
And I'm gutted as this is one of the highlights of the year

I keep telling you. There not deep veins. You need to be over 5ft for them
