North Wales 2018 report

Post by Bonnielad » Sun Sep 16, 2018 6:18 am

What a weekend. We met new guy Tony (Trowel?) who tried out our bikes and has now been bitten by the bug. In total we had 5 riders and 2 wives. And, Unusually we only had a couple of light showers
The Grouse at Carrog served us very well both nights with excellent food and lubrication.
The trails were a mix of long easy punctuated by some steep wet loose rocky climbs and descents. Full respect to Mike (Monkey) who hasn’t ridden a bike at all for 5 years who persevered gamely despite regularly proving the law of gravity. Thanks must go to Will and Lee, the two younger and fitter riders who tirelessly helped out when the going got tough. And a special thanks to Geoff (Spannerman) for knowing where we were by understanding and pronouncing all the place names which no Englishman could ever do.
Thanks for making it such a great weekend. Same time next year chaps?

Great weekend! Thanks, Steve, for setting it up. Super ride on Saturday on several trails with great views. Cheers Will and Lee for looking after the wrinklies! Great company, looking forward to the next one.

It was a good weekend, some great lanes and good company. The weather treated us well.

The lanes were challenging in places so well done to everyone. I am up for it next year.

Really impressed with the TET I will be looking into this.

Interesting ride home by candle light. Lee's headlight blew around a mile away from home.

Thanks again.

Will; I forgot to mention about when you nearly fell off. It was nothing to do with your ability or the terrain, it was the distraction when we rode past that muck-spreader

Brilliant - thanks for organising and dragging me round. Bike and me got to the bottom of several descents together totally surprised. But lacking balls to give it the beans I know it needed to launch myself uphill. ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ Have to practice a bit more

MT keys are pretty much all the same, how did you know who you pulled?

A bit late in responding here but must thank all those that made me feel so welcome. I brought my new MT500 home from Yorkshire last Saturday...and took it for an illegal maiden voyage jaunt along the back lanes on sunday. Got the hang of starting it after Keith (a helpful club member) gave me a working spark plug. Need to slow tick over down a tad but apart from that very pleased so far. Girlfriend says it looks like a goat so Goat is what its now called !! Looking forwards to more club events...

Cheers

you may not quite realise that in using the word 'illegal' You may cause some angst among forum members who work to uphold the law . Your post would have been equally valid without mentioning it's legality 🙄
