From Sea to Shining Sea....
About 5 years ago, fellow MT Rider Geoff Barnett posted on here details of the blog of his upcoming coast to coast USA cycle ride... White Line Fever.... I didn't read it at the time but I did bookmark to read at a later date.... which I eventually did about 4 years on!.... Reading Geoff's blog was the planting of the seed that has become this trip.....
So.... tomorrow I'm flying to Boston USA with my bicycle to ride From Sea to Shining Sea.... coast to coast USA.... Boston to San Francisco via Nashville and Memphis visiting places along the way made famous by ‪Johnny Cash‬ and his music.... I'm riding on my own, self supported....
if you'd like to follow my blog you can find it at ‪www.crazyguyonabike.com/cashodyssey‬
I also have a Facebook page called cashodyssey
I’d like to point out that I'm not really a cyclist.... I did used to ride a bike to school....
I always thought that if ever I crossed the USA it would be by hitchhiking or motorbike... I'm riding a 2nd hand bike I got on eBay and I've had most of my kit for a while although I've bought a lighter tent off Bunker and invested in some padded shorts, some udder cream and an extra water bottle...
My last proper motorbike trip was in 2015 and during that I didn’t feel too great and ignored the symptoms which turned out to be type 2 diabetes.... cycling is better for me at the moment... but I still hope to ride east again on my MT one day...

Best of luck John. Will follow your progress with interest. I've heard it said that you will be much more comfortable if you have a bum crack wax.

John, I think you have a screw loose somewhere....that said what an adventure to undertake, I am sure you will meet some amazingly friendly people out there especially when word gets around of what you intend doing. By the time you finish you will be able to crack walnuts between your butt cheeks

Have a great time. Spent some of the weekend with Geoff B-your inspiration hearing about his coast to coast ride. Stay safe and will look forward to the blog. As he says - never have a hard day. Your only target is the end ,- whatever happens in between happens

He wasn't Moscowjohn originally but bought his MT and rode it to Moscow just 4 weeks laterFlying Dutchman wrote: ↑Tue Aug 07, 2018 7:43 pmGood luck John,

I remember Rustybike wrestling John's wheelbearings out at Stafford An easy job you may think but the races were completely shot and required a big hammer and much swearing He needed some new parts and the lady from LMS , who were exhibiting, went the extra mile by hand delivering them the next morning
