Yorkshire Dales weekend 27/28th July 18.

Post by Bonnielad » Tue May 22, 2018 1:02 pm

Once again, we will be taking a ride out on the trails in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales in July.
Here are my plans, feel free to join me.
I am booked in to the Bainbridge Ings Country Park campsite (DL8 3NU just east of Hawes, signposted off the A684) on Friday and Saturday July 27th & 28th.
Please contact them direct and make your own arrangements but tell them you're with me and they should put us all together. Their number is 01969 667354.
As last year, I have also booked our evening meals at the Wensleydale Pantry, after which there are plenty of pubs in Hawes for those wanting further lubrication.
The campsite has toilet/shower & hook-up facilities but no food so we will need to sort our own breakfasts.
Most of the trails are easily managed. Those wanting a 'ride round' the more difficult sections can be accommodated easily.
Sadly, scones at Ravenseat are unlikely this year. My pisstake sack is still overflowing!
Any questions, just shout.
Hope to see you there.

Steve

I'm definitely interested, I just need to see if I can get the Friday off work to travel up without rushing. I get the feeling work is going to be busy as hell so I can't make promises yet.

I have promised the campsite owners that we won't ride out until 10am so not to upset any campers. This means if you get up early, maybe you can still join us Saturday morning?

I haven't had chance to speak to my boss as he's too busy inserting himself up someone else's colon. I have checked the holiday calendar though and it's clear, I just need to confirm the dates of a Normandy trip with a friend thats happening in July too and then I'll commit. It's about a 120 mile ride from here, google maps estimates 3 to 4 hours avoiding motorways, so I'd definitely sooner take the friday and ride up at my own pace.

On the up side I don't have to get permission from her indoors as she's said to me that she doesn't want me to miss this! I smell ulterior motives...

I've got this in the diary, looking forward to it!

I'll contact the site this week when I get back home. I'm in Calais ATM waiting for the 00.30 ferry :-)

I've been watching this over and over to try and get an understanding of how they communicate, I'm still none the wiser.

Someone will need to interpret for me. ;)
