Some people are saying this date is too close to the Dragon. i didn't want to clash with Northampton which is usually the first weekend of March. The big meet is usually late April so maybe we should go for later in March? You tell me. There's no point arranging something if nobody can make it.
nov------ southern meet
dec------ sinterklass
jan------
feb------dragon
march--northants
april----big meet

how about mid jan say 12th to 14th? just a thought.

That would suit me- it would mean I may have a basic idea of what to do before the Northants
meet😆

Great idea Steve!
I'm definitely up for it, just depends on dates really, I probably can't do January or February due to winter rally commitments.

Interesting event and would like to join in. Site sounds really good, and caters for most if not all options for camping.

Easter is the last weekend of March, I do hope a suitable weekend can be sorted.

If you do go for the 10th Feb, I can stay Friday night and then ride up to the Dragon on Saturday :)

OK. Taking account of the positive responses I think we should definitely do this.
Taking account of comments on dates, it seems the best time that is likely to accommodate most people would be SATURDAY 20TH JANUARY 2018.
I will now check with the landowner and the workhouse to confirm and let you know how we get on.

UPDATE:
The landowner has given his approval for us to use his land - provided we don't chew it to bits if its wet.
The Bunkhouse is usually closed until March but have agreed to open up especially for us - provided enough of us turn up to make it worthwhile.
So please can I have some confirmation from all those that are coming?

Here is the text from the bunkhouse's latest email:
"people can book with me directly and pay in full in cash on arrival but as you're not booking as a group it will be the standard £15pppn rate. Also, the bunkhouse is normally closed Nov-Feb because it's not cost effective to heat the building for a small number of guests. We are willing to open for large groups though, hence accepting your request. I will therefore, have to put a minimum number limit on your visit. We simply can't afford to open the bunkhouse in Jan for any less than 15 people. So at least 15 will have to book by the weekend before your visit or we'll cancel the bookings. I hope that's ok."

If we get enough bodies, they will consider opening the bar and providing catering. I certainly think we need to sort breakfast, but there is the option to bring our own food and use their facilities.

Bunkhouse contact details are: bunkhouse@the-workhouse.com
