Long Range Fuel Tank
Long Range Fuel Tank
Has anyone got a good picture of an MT500 with long range fuel tank fitted? I want to see whether it completely spoils the look of the bike

Like a swollen camel.. be aware they are also very top heavy which is fine for road use but dont try clattering about off road with a full one

You don't need a parachute to skydive. You only need a parachute to skydive twice.

Re: Long Range Fuel Tank
I think I need to see one fitted in the flesh. I like the idea of 20L capacity but a swollen camel look wouldn't be very appealing!

Re: Long Range Fuel Tank
Many thanks Bunker for the pics. It's obviously a very practical option for longer range road use but I'm not sure I could live with having such a bulbous looking tank on the bike!

Re: Long Range Fuel Tank
its one of the better upgrades to do with your bike, some 500 with a Mikuni will only do 38-40 mpg so its worth it

Re: Long Range Fuel Tank
Yes - the biggest problem I have with my MT500 for road use is its limited range. With a Mikuni, mine will do low 40's mpg which gives me a max range of only ~120 miles provided I drive sensibly. However, with a 20L tank that would take it up to 180 miles which is similar to my Suzuki GSX1400 which I would be happy with. I'm almost persuaded to fit a long range tank but ideally I'd like to sit on an MT500 fitted with one to see what it looked like from that point of view.
