New Guy in Ontario Canada

Post by dugarm » Thu Sep 29, 2016 11:28 pm

Good Day everyone.

I just discovered the Armstrong motorcycle two weeks ago while riding in Quebec. It was in a small museum on display with several other military motorcycles. Since my last name is Armstrong, I decided that I had better investigate this motorcycle that was used by Canadian Forces. In fact, there are a couple for sale in London Ontario near where I live. I'm itching to look at one in the flesh.
Happy Riding

Welcome to the forum.. I think WJP has a couple of Harley Davidson 350's for sale in Ontario - the Armstrong side panels would fit and no one would ever know!

From memory I think there were about 75 MT500 were produced for Canadian Armed Forces. They had a slightly different specification to UK bikes, including I think electric start along with those produced for Jordan

I assume your first name is Douglas.

You couldn't get a more masculine name if you tried, well done.

Welcome.

Doug ;)

Hi and welcome to the club

I have two MT350s stored in Granton, just north of London, so about an hours drive for you.

I sold my house in Canada last month and was planning to bring the bikes back to the UK if not sold. I will be out again for work at the end of November, but could arrange for you to see them before then if your interested. Look in the for sale section and drop me a PM if you need more pictures info etc..

Cheers
Will

I've family in Ontario, but at the other side, Kingston, which is near the Quebec border. Where was the museum that you saw the MT? I can add it to my places to visit the next time I'm over.

Sounds like you may get the opportunity to get hold of one soon. Excellent machine for hacking around the back roads.
