Hi Guys, Im new to the Mt world, i have recently purchaced a Mt off Will from the mt riders club.
In the time ive had it i have got it running nicely, give it a service and renewed brake hoses and a few worn parts. Its now Motd and registered and all is well. i hope to get to a few riders club meets

James is also a handy engineery type bloke (well he owns an old landy so I guess he has to be) and was up for a bit of a project. I did the "heavy lifting" on the bike to get it to a state that I was confident it would pass an MOT, but made some recommendations for what I would do if it was mine, even mentioned the pannier condition .... and as such it was put up for sale as a simple project to complete by the new owner, with the offer that I could get it MOTd and do the "fine tuning" that would be inevitable once you started to ride it. I would never knowingly sell a bike with a problem undisclosed and I really don't believe that was the implication in the original post, far from it, as I have had regular and good communication with James since he became the new owner and know he is very happy with the bike.

HD350 easy project to complete
I have for sale an as released by the army a 1993 MT350 25KL25 . I have all the release paperwork so you would be the first owner upon registration.
Before the army released the bike it looks like they very kindly put in a new engine (late engine number and little sign of use cf to speedometer, by the way the trip does work), front wheel, headlight, cowl and silencer as they have clearly not done many miles.
The bike was sold by auction at Withams in 2008 and has sat in a shed since then.
I have done the harder part of the project and replaced the numerous bits that had gone missing in action between sale and shed and/or needed to be replaced because they were broken or didn't work. Put on a new battery and using the workshop fuel tank got it started and it runs very well, no sprag issues etc.
Not many bad points to list. The main one is that the tank is rather rusty inside, but I have seen a lot worse and I know it can be cleaned out.
Needs a few new indicator bulbs and maybe a flasher unit, otherwise all electrics are working as they should.
I would only rate the front panniers as average/below average condition, but can be easily refreshed with new locks etc.
If I was keeping the bike I would put new braided brake hoses on and also service the front forks with new oil and seals and instal a new side stand bush to take up the slack, not that it doesn't work, rather I like things to work as best they can.
It would make an ideal simple project and a good intro to these bikes. Registration is straight forward and instructions are available on this site.
If the person buying this is a new member then I will include a hard copy of the manual and a service kit ( oil and air filters, cambelt and spark plug).
I would be happy to finish the project and get it an MOT on the frame VIN, if you dont want to do that yourself, subject to an agreed scope/price etc.
I also have a good clean tank complete with army dents to save you the trouble of cleaning and de rusting the tank.
As you can see its complete and in very good condition and not something that comes up very often now.
I de-rusted the tank and sorted the indicators before it was sold, the rest was down to James with some advice from myself and no doubt others. I think he has picked up a cracking bike and I am sure he will enjoy it and he has already added some service/maintenance skills to his CV, that as you know will only increase with prolonged MT ownership.

Yes I am extremely happy with the bike, hence why I took it somewhere nice to take some decent photos of it (sad I know) . I’m pleased to say the bike sailed through the MOT with no advisories. I will get in contact soon regarding a ride out over your way, looking forward to taking it out on a longer run. I’ve got a busy two weeks ahead setting up then taking down the kop hill climb event in Princes Risborough www.kophillclimb.org.uk all run by volunteers a nice day out for charity if anyone’s into old cars and bikes, I even saw an MT there last year
