The build so far

Post by digger » Sun Nov 15, 2009 12:54 pm

Trying to build a bike using spares from the 350 and 500 does have its problems but as they occur I have to find a way round them.
I shall be relying on others ;) ;) ,( Apophis and Green machine) to help me with the mods that have to be made to a new 500 loom to incorporate the leccy boot circuit. It doesnt help matters when your,e colour blind either   .
As I,ve only got a 500 rear wheel I,m contemplating using a twin leading shoe hydraulic conversion providing the 350 cylinder will do the job, which I need by the way, we,ll see.
More pics as it progress,s.

Hi all,
that looks great, the engine looks good too, was it already painted or did you paint it, and if so what paint did you use,
cheers,
Andy

You don't need a parachute to skydive. You only need a parachute to skydive twice.

I,m looking at several options at the moment but the easiest and most available will be a Morris minor backplate, early days yet.
The paint is UPOL hi build primer and Sperex satin bike black.
Simon thanks for the offer I,ll bear it in mind.

Because there are one or two "minor"   problems arising from combining the various parts that make the brake work, admittedly nothing that I couldnt overcome but as I,ve seen this conversion done before on a grimeca hub I thought I,d have a go. Tho it might come to nothing yet and I agree with you there,s nothing wrong with a well set up rear brake.
If the swing on my lathe was big enough, and the fact that Ive got a spare 350 caliper fork leg, I,d considered making a hub to take two discs but I thought it was a bit egotistical so thats a non starter
