Yorkshire Dales Rideout

Post by Mr Shiney » Mon Jun 13, 2016 3:05 pm

Thought I would post a few pics from the Yorkshire Dales meet this weekend. Thanks to Bonneilad for the suggestion to meet up. We were a bit thin on the ground but did get a guest appearance from member Priest who we thought was there to nick us.....

The weather was actually pretty kind apart from the last hour but we were wet by then anyway! Steve put a lot of effort into mapping the trails and as a result we had some cracking riding. Campsite was brilliant with only a short walk into Hawes for a huge number of pubs.

Hi fellas,
It was probably after you had left that I was tasked to check the level of the floods. The ford that you road over was totally impassable, the bottom end of Hawes was a wipe out with the bridge under 3feet of water. If you come back and bring weather like that again, you will be barred from North Yorkshire. :o

Not a single MT there.

Perhaps 'the club' needs a new title.

Yes, I do need glasses but even with them on I couldn't see any MT's, only a couple of Rotax engined bikes. Nothing there that stands out as an MT.

Nearly half the bikes were MT's actually. Mine clearly wasn't, but then you know I think the standard MT is a shit green lane bike as is evidenced by the amount of times your is being repaired mid trail every time we go out.....

And as a point of order this was a private members meet not a club meet so yo could have turned up on your broomstick......

If you remember Doug, mine's an MT and Paul's 'Red Devil' is a 350 in a pretty dress. It's even still got it's original tank.
I've just got to say thanks to the guys that turned up. I had one of the most enjoyable weekends of my life. Everything about it for me was just perfect.
Paul is a constant source of entertainment, whether its watching him fall in the first ford within the first half mile, watching the bike dance beneath him as he stays sat down over the rough ground or - best of all - the look on his face when a 'copper' knocked on the motorhome door. Priceless!
