Rebuild of MT350
Rebuild of MT350
Hi, I'm curently rebuilding, from Ground up an MT 350.
What stickers do I need to keep it original. ??
I'm thinking 2 x OMD 80 for the oil tank and what else?
Other than changing the brake hoses for Braided it will be completely original.
I will post some pics when I figure out how to get them off my phone.
I've completely stripped it down and powder coated the lot.
Rubbed down all plastics and resprayed them .
Replacing all nuts and bolts with Stainless, (a bit of a cost but well worth it).
I stated rebuild yesterday but due to work etc, I wont be back to it for a week.
Any assistance as to what stickers I need will be greatly appreciated.
Regards
Ricky

Re: Rebuild of MT350
Hi,
Have you spoken to P.I.STAKER On here as he does the complete set of stainless at a very very reasonable price.
Cheers

Re: Rebuild of MT350
I'm sure Shiney is correct, there were no stickers on them. Some military units would add tyre pressures i.e. TP22, and unit identification, either painted on or stickers.

Re: Rebuild of MT350
I haven't seen military stickers used on MTs
What I have seen is stenciled info TPnn, OMnn, IFOR and Unit Ids on MTs
If you are trying for authenticity on your particular bike you need to establish the markings from a unit that used it Bear in mind that bikes didn't necessarily spend all of their service time issued to one unit
Some owners have tried to invent their own version of military paint schemes in an effort to be 'authentic' but sadly they have failed miserably, I say that having painted armoured cars when in military service
Paint your bike to please YOU

Re: Rebuild of MT350
Many thanks for all the replies.
I Passed my test on am MT 500 whilst serving ( more than 20 years ago). and I vaguely recalled the omd oil stickers and as some people rightly say a lot of the times these were stenciled on.
As my job spec at the time was no where near the MT section I couldnt recall if it was a set or not.
I think I will get the oil stickers made up and as suggested do a bit of digging to see if I can locate the last unit the bike served in.
regards
Ricky
