I thought talking to people the consensus was not to do that this year and operate a pay as you go system.
Their is no problem with people chipping in for a main meal etc but that can then be at everyone's discretion. My thoughts anyway.

I thought it went well at Normandy, we all chipped in at the time for the food back at the base and then when we ate out we divid up the total cost equally, seemed to work alright, the fuel fund most definitely.

Yes that was fine no problem. Last year we all paid Simon upfront and he paid the shopping bills. That's splitting everyone's food and drink equally for the whole trip.

I'm going to be a right pain but cos i'm vegan most of the food that you'll buy i won't be able to eat! What a pita i am, so i'll sort out my own fuel as well so i can keep tabs on exactly what i'm spending this year
If this is hard work you can beat me in Holland

I don't eat red meat, because high blood pressure, but my misses is OK. Off the Whisky and other shorts, so no Old Geneva chasers for me.
