Nice one Richard, that worked a treat!
I go for the less finesse approach by laying the bike on its side and using a spring puller! Cheers for the link! Has the chain slipper arrived yet?

After taking mine off last week I was struggling to find a way to get them on but after seeing Mr Smileys solution I came up one that worked for me.Fitting the spring to the top eyelet I used a wire strap from the bottom spring eye around a car scissor jack and back,the jack was supported across the swing arm frame with a chock of wood and just stretched it to the right length then used a screwdriver to just position it correctly before lossening the tension.
A tad Heath Robinson but it worked.
