Took the MT to Salisbury Plain today, all was going well til I found a bit of a puddle......
Unfortunately the 'puddle' didn't have a bottom and the mud was so thick that I disappeared right up to the back axle. In fact it got caught so good that I couldn't get it out. I managed to drag the bike onto its side but the bank prevented me from getting any further. Then I 'borrowed' a couple of wooden posts (don't tell the military!) and wedged one under the back wheel and then one under the front forks and used them as a fulcrum to start lifting it out the mud. Some fantastic squidgy fart noises ensued!
Fortunately at this point a couple and a farmer came past and helped me drag it back out. Could have been a forced overnight camp:)
Am really aching now, but brilliant fun.
Love my MT

Great story
Made me chuckle
I've had a few incidents , close calls , bad decisions .
luckily not had a long walk or an overnighter
It's all part of the fun , long May it continue

Spent 2 hours faffing about with the swing arm completely submerged

Go on YouTube and look up "chocolate honda"
There's a group of us trying to rescue my honda XR650 from a tank trap on Salisbury plain.

Nice one Chris.
Isn't it odd that when it's happening it's all trauma and drama but then afterwards it's always the dramas that leave us with the best memories. Just like when I decided not to be a wimp and tackle the river in the Yorkshire dales last year! Drowned bike, wet through and knackered rider. Half an hour team effort to get the beast running again.
Best memories.

Glad to hear you and the bike made it out. It is one of the reasons why it's best to ride with others.
What is even worse is of you came off and got a leg trapped, break or sprain something.
There was a report in the local paper last week, a motorcyclist found not far from a main road, he had been dead for three days before someone spotted the bike in the undergrowth.
I know there is at least one tank submerged in Kelder forest after straying off a track. It could not be recovered economically, so it was left and slowly sank in the mud.
