Well I was sitting doing nothing so I'd better get on with this!

As Dave (Cadman) quite rightly noticed, the European section of the tour is a good 1000 miles of road riding. Only you will know what needs to be done to your bike in preparation. In all probability expect to lose at least one spring. I would advise you to carry one spare bungee of around two foot in length. This can be used should your side stand spring goes, still giving you the use of the stand.

SPARES (Law)

Hi vis vest. Kept near by for quick use.
Bulb and Fuse kit. This is what the Police expect to see. Can be got at supermarket for Ă‚ÂŁ5,
most of little use on a MT.
Travel First Aid Kit. Again from supermarket for around Ă‚ÂŁ5.

BIKE SPARES

Front Inner Tube
Puncture Repair Kit
Clutch Cable
Throttle Cable (optional)
Cam Belt
Cable Ties/Duct Tape
Chain Lube and WD40
Headlight Bulb particular to your MT

My bike acts as QM and I will be carrying extra's of the above plus foot pump and drive chain with split links. This doesn't cover everything but how longs a piece of string.

DOCUMENTS

I would advise you to have a European Health Insurance Card, the old E11. This can be got on line and is free. Also travel insurance but check before you buy, as you might already have it attached to something else.

Breakdown Insurance together with European contact number!!

The following you will need to take both original and have copies of:

Passport
Driving License
Fully Comprehensive Insurance cover note
M.O.T.
Log Book (V5)

BREAKS

Stops are planned for every 2 hours , or every 120 miles. This is not a race so if you find your bum needs to stop more often then let me know. Lunches and coffee breaks during the day as and when required.

ATTRACTIONS

Admissions are not included so make sure you have some euro's.

I think that just about covers it, if you have any questions drop me a line. If you plan on bringing any electrical stuff make sure you have the correct adapter!! One last thing. The hotel should supply bedding but don't know about base camp. So unless Grant says otherwise, I'd bring a sleeping bag.

Had I look on the info and bedding is provided. That's going to save some space. 8-)

May be a good idea for us to post what tools and spares we will be carrying. This could save us some weight by not taking 5 of everything or highlight an obvious omission?

Tyre tubes front and back
Spark plug
Timing belt
Clutch adjusting spanner
Locking bolt
Socket set up to 14mm
Rear wheel nut spanner
Sml hand pump
Repair puncture spray for pushbike (should work)
Old carb rubber ( better than nothing)
Screw drivers
Alan keys
Spare clutch cable
Wd40
Chain lube

Don't have any tyre leavers
Throttle cables
What size is the front wheel Nut?
No spare centre spring (just used it)
No side stand spring

Will get a spare front bulb.

Same tools as per standard tool kit but i usually carry a bit of fuel pipe, spare plug, cap and ht lead
Might stick a coil and regrec if i can find one in my own stuff if i can climb over the club guff!
Has anyone got a spare clutch & brake lever just incase someone drops the bike!

Anyone got throttle cables ?

We can always share out the parts at the tunnel so someone's not carrying loads of extras
Just because they have a garage full of Spares.

When doing the list I assumed each member had and would take their 'normal' MT toolkit. You only need the front inner tube as it will replace the rear in an emergency, front being bigger.

ill be taking my usual spares plus clutch cable,cdi unit,coil ,reg/rect(500) and front and rear tubes. pump.
all cables etc oiled and greased before launch. oh yeh...uk breakdown cover and european breakdown cover. not forgetting waterproofs. :D
