Hi All
I have just bought a rather fine Can-Am 250. As usual, I would like to work through the bike, changing fluids, etc.
The documentation I have read suggests using OMD 75 oil for the transmission, which I believe equates to a 10w-30 engine oil. I would be grateful for any recommendation, based on experience.

15w40 multigrade went in yours on the rebuild Steve. OMD 75 was replaced by OMD 80 then OMD 90! If itwasgood enough for a challenger mbt it be good enough for a motorcycle!Mr Shiney wrote:Yep, thats what goes in mine. Cheap and cheerful mineral oil.BikingBodger wrote:Hi All

Re: Engine Oil Recommendations
All that leaked out over my boot after the problem with the clutch cable. The cheap stuff went back in.....Minter wrote:15w40 multigrade went in yours on the rebuild Steve. Re: Engine Oil Recommendations
I have always used ATF in mine. It does help with clutch drag.

Over-engineering replacement parts that were under-engineered originally by the manufacturer is the whole point of having a home shop.
