Nut and Bolt Rebuild on Emma
Re: Nut and Bolt Rebuild on Emma
just a suggestion would it be worth putting some kind of heat shield between the air filter and the exhaust would probably help the bike to run cooler
im only saying this as i discovered the reason that my 500 wouldnt start when hot was because the carb was directly above the exhaust and was boiling /evaporating or whatever ! the petrol in the float bowl dunno if anyone else has had this problem

Good thought
do you mean heat shield under the airbox or under the carb
I will see how much this will add to the costing

Re: Nut and Bolt Rebuild on Emma
You can get exhaust wrap that would insulate the heat from the carb/airbox. This would increase the chances of carb icing especially on a CV carb(my Kawasaki KLX used to do this and would not run if the revs dropped low when the ambient temperature was below about 2 degrees or there was a lot of moisture in the cold air).

Very, very nice Craig,
Well done for putting the effort in - this is exactly the sort of product that will be needed to keep our bikes going in the future.
Put me down as a definite!
