Another weekend of tinkering with the project,
Mrs Bandit getting a bit cheesed off at the moment , she thinks i love the mt more than her

i'm nearly there now,, i bought another amal carb and decided to completely refurbish it , in order to give myself the best chance of having a good starting machine ,, nothing really wrong with my amal , it run ok on minters test bed,

completely finished all the electrics now, and it's looking like it's a bike again, once the new amal is on, i can put on the tank and seat,
can't wait for that,

hopefully the next post on this thread should be the completed project

today was a massive turning point,,
i fitted the tank, and the fuel line, then i just couldn't help myself, i started her,, :D :D :D
still hanging from the ceiling , without wheels , but made it secure and went for it,,
got it on about the 4th kick,, more luck than judgement i think,, i know the carb needs tweaking,, although it's set to the book,,and i've got an overrun when i shut the throttle off,, even tho the adjustment on the cable is at max play,, i think the cable is not releasing as it should,, may need to check the routing of it .
then once she was nice and hot, she conked out on tick over, struggled a bit to restart her, lost the knack i think,,
shut it down after a good running ,, went for restart, boo hooo no luck,
but this is not the bike, it's me learning the technique, and not on her wheels so i cant really kick it proper, if you know what i mean
so close now

Well done for getting it started, I told you it was a doddle, didn't I ?

I'm almost embarrassed about the state of mine compared to yours, of course I'm not

Good job.

Excellent job! It took me a while to get the knack of mine but once you have, it is generally well behaved!
