Re: ww1 battlefields bimble 2015. not to be confused with 20
Hi Guys
Sorry I have not been contributing to the discussions, but work has been crazy busy. I do not have any past experience of the areas which we will be travelling around, so I am more than happy to go along with whatever the more knowledgeable among us suggest.
Dave.

Just a thought .
I live just off the M1 about 20 miles North of London. If anybody coming down from up North wanted to use my house a stop over on the way down to Dover (and back again) I would be happy to put you up for the night. From me it is about 120 miles (or two and a quarter) hours down to Dover.

I was waiting for your accommodation, so I could work round it
If it is easier for people to meet up on the Saturday, rather than taking an extra day of work I'm easy with that.

Did we say Bastogne Sat night.? Or Sun. I know museum closed Mon but is it OK for sun pm.
Pirate if you do an itinerary then everyone will know what the plan is and can give a happy or not.
I need definite numbers for the accommodation or the rest of us will be picking up the tab for Spare room spaces etc. I'm not happy just booking for 8 if only 5/6 end up going

Well
Start day?
Get off ferry about 8am. Ride to Bastogne. Visit museum pm. Stay night in town. Get up and spend morning doing town or local Battle of the bulge stuff.
Afternoon on to Verdun. Spend afternoon doing Verdun stuff then stay night in town. Morning doing town or local stuff. Afternoon leave Verdun area and head West to????
So day 3 we arrive at our to be decided accommodation for the rest of the trip. This will be chalet or mob home thingy at a reasonable low cost..
That's the sort of plan so far

The museum is open over the weekend from 10am - 6pm. I've noticed that alot of attractions seem to shut or have restricted access on a Monday.Blitz wrote:Did we say Bastogne Sat night.? Or Sun. I know museum closed Mon but is it OK for sun pm.
Bastogne on the itinerary is Saturday night but of course can change to Sunday if the group opts for Sunday arrival in France.
