I would be up for it as well. Calais crossing.

Plenty of nice camping around there that would take a group.

after a chat ,over a few beers,at the weekend , a concensus of opinion about the date. last week in june is the sugestion. that would make it friday 26th june 2015 to saturday 4th july. or you could plump for 19th june to 27th june.
the reasoning behind this is a) the kids are still at school (less busy), b) plenty of daylight hours.
traveling dover calais crossing . plenty of sailings for our convenience.
suggested first night or two to be in arras. only 1 1/2 hrs from calais.
last night to be spent somewhere near the menin gate to hear the last post before the return home.

nothing is set in stone and all suggestions are welcomed but one proviso is we decide the travel date and ferry times before the end of the year.

If you go the Menin Gate on the last night ,when you book the ferry you get a choice of crossings you can have Dover -Calais on way out and Dover Dunkirk return ,Dunkirk is 20 minutes nearer than Calais ,saves a bit of travel on the return and we could catch a earlier ferry, just a thought

Sorry not been about for a few weeks.

Count me in on this one.
Dates not a problem for me.
I agree an extra few days is a good idea
How about finding a chalet in say two locations as base camps ?
This really worked well for us in Normandy. Less lugage to take. Drying area. Better beds. Kitchen reduced food bills which helped pay for the slight increase in cost.
Oh and socially made the evenings much better.
