Re: Full Flow Stainless Exhaust Link Pipe
After my experience, this weekend, I thought it might be worth suggesting others check their link pipes.
My mate spotted my silencer waving about. When I stopped I found that the hanger had shears and that the link pipe had come away from it's mounting bracket. I assumed that the hanger had broken first, and that the weight of the silencer had caused the link pipe brackets to break. However, when I took it all apart I found that the broken welds on the link pipe were encrusted in muck, so had been broken for some time. You might want to check your link pipe.
I'm not sure whether to get the link pipe mounting bracket welded back on, or whether to try and mount it with a "P" clamp. Any suggestions?

Re: Full Flow Stainless Exhaust Link Pipe
Thanks Garry, I hadn't realised you'd guaranteed the link pipe.
I didn't post my comments as a complaint; after all the exhaust hanger sheared too. I thought I ought to warn others as with the exhaust hanger broken as well as the link pipe mounting, the whole weight of the exhaust system was bearing on the two manifold clamps........... which could lead to costly damage to the head.
Cheers,

Re: Full Flow Stainless Exhaust Link Pipe
I just spoke to Martin at MTC exhausts. Really helpful guy. They now do standard 45mm inlets for CCM (and Minter's linking pipe) Apparently they didn't used to. I have ordered a black oval with a carbon end -apparently only marginally heavier than a iull titanium with SS end. I'll post a piccie once fitted.

Hi Guido64
I'm in the process of deciding on exhaust for current project that will replace the 350 with a 500e that Gary built for me. I like your choice and was wondering if you had fitted it yet and could share a few piccies.
Gary
Can you put me down for a link pipe please, no rush as I doubt I will be ready to install it before starting next round.
Cheers
