Its the same as the one on my blue trail bike version and it does sound good! There is a video of it going up Bamford Clough somewhere on here complete with sound track!

After many an hour trying and testing different cranks, pistons, cams, heads, clutches and exhausts, ive come up with the following....

I'd like to get it set up on a rolling road but time is running out for this weekends King of the Castle event at farleigh castle this weekend...

Image

5 speed close ratio 'box..

Image

Sportax clutch..!

Image

Special Crank!

Image

RHS with semi slipper high compression piston and 'special' bolts holding crank cases together!

Image

Special clutch fitted - note no counter balance shaft..

Image

Nice piston!

Image

Yep! nice Piston!

Image

Image

604 head with 36mm inlet valves.. all polished and re ground

Image

Special valve springs and caps and rockers..

Image

Image

Titanium even in the parts you wont even see!

Image

Ran up on the test bed... wow its got some compression!

Image

In the frame, at last..

Runs well, must be the 32mm headers! Hopefully if these work better than the 28's i'll get them produced..

Mmmmmmm, nice.

What's the final displacement on this one? 640?

I've left the balance shafts out when rebuilding Honda XL/XR500 engines, can't say as I've ever actually missed them!
