Oxy/Acetylene using a pepper pot to heat. Gets the metal to the correct temp to be reformed without stressing it. Derricks lever is now back to its original shape!

Re: Herts TRF
Thanks Steve
For info, I've been using some firebricks to create a mini-oven for heating items with a propane torch
Quite impressed by the temperatures reached - about 1200 deg C

Thats an alternate way of getting things hot, but you can't beat oxy/acet for quick jobs and easily controllable heat in my experience. The problem with fire bricks and just propane is you can't spot heat stuff like I did in that picture and when you are straightening pedals etc you need to be able to do that rather than getting the entire workpiece hot.

All straight and ready for another trip off-road, thanks Steve.
( I'll get a hang of posting photos sometime, got the size right but it's gone up-side-down . It is fine when I view it on the laptop )

Brilliant ride out today with Herts TRF. Good people, excellent lanes, some very challenging (for me a least). MT 350 got a lot of admiring comments. It behaved fabulously. What a great little bike

Re: Herts TRF
I'm sorry to have missed it but I was doing my IAM high speed assessment. 100 miles of fast riding with an observer. Lots of interest in the bike though...

Shame I missed that one, was a lovely day for riding but I was not allowed out of the garden.
At least they keep seeing an MT. One day we will get a group there.

Yes, be great to get a group there... what is the collective noun for MTs?
