Have you got an internal fuel pump fitted now?
Are you happy with all the parts or have you got bits in mind/upgrades.

I asume once you are happy with the EFI settings these can then be used on any 500 with your retro fitted parts ?

The fuel pump is external and is fitted under the tank.
Its large and noisy and made in china... I have on off a Yamaha R1 that I may fit later but this one it working for now.
My fuel map would be a perfect starting point for another rotax 500 however its just like a carb and it effected by different inlet tracts and exhausts etc.

So what's it like now from cold? Kick it. It fires up and runs? Reducing revs as it warms up and doesn't stall even if you throttle her ?

Ie everything the carb version won't do ?

Starts well, when its cold I need to have a small amount of throttle open as I dont have a fast idle valve. After the "afterstart enrichment" turns off (about 150-400 engine cycles depending on engine temp) it settles down to a steady idle.
The fine tuning I need to do now is making sure it will start well at any engine temp, when thats done it should kick start ok and start on the button after a couple of cranks like a factory fuel injected bike. Also need to adjust acceleration enrichments and low speed responsiveness.

Sound like your getting there. Impressive.

I know some people like the battle of a single carb bike but if I can change the bike to my liking then I will ride it more, so it's a win win for me.

My MT is my only bike so it's not a play thing.

I'm JEALOUS, and that's partly because you can buy Timothy Taylors in a local boozer any time you feel like it :-) And also because I love the work you've done. Well done, great example of what can be done with a bit of determination.

Thank You for sharing it.

Problem...
I have a voltage readout on my Acewell speedo and with the headlight on (55w H4) it is showing 12.0V :? (need to veryify the accuracy of this ...
So I think my inline fuel pump is drawing alot of power.
Going to have a go with a Yamaha R1 pump that Ady got me and see how that goes. But im thinking of retrofitting a f650 alternator which is 400W... watch this space.

Go for it Yoof,

When you going to fit a water cooled engine, at this rate you will end up with a F650.
