Was thinking the same thing.
Well done. Can't wait to see her

Still tuning....
Seem to be getting an annoying miss every 10 seconds or so which cuts the engine on tickover.
Cant do much until I have figured out the problem ...

Sorted, the acceleration enrichment was set too sensitive and was kicking in accidentaly on tickover. Still haven't set it up but reduced the sensitivity. Basically it detects how fast you move the throttle and takes count of the rpm and adds more fuel as required. Like a pumper on a carb. Except fully variable
So far it starts up from cold and ticks over spot on and goes through start and warmup enrichment.
Wondering if the oil temp sensor in the bottom end is a good idea as theres so much oil its taking very long befor it thinks the engine is up to temp.
May swap it for a cylinder head temp sensor.

Brilliant write up Nick, been following this and though it's well outside my skill level, it's fascinating to learn from guys who can do this stuff and are very willing to share - thanks very much !

Agree re cylinder head temp. K type sensors are available for about £10. I think you've already got an EGT sensor?
BTW I've always thought oil pressure was more important than temperature
As an aside I've just bought a cheap +- 3G accelerometer sensor and I'm now working on some software to see if it can be used to track power output... Haven't cracked the problem of an analog speed sensor yet, but I've got some ideas.

Yep just fitted a oil pressure switch to the hole on the oil filter cover. Its a BMW one, f650 I think. Anyway haven't wired it up yet but its the correct thread. 1/4 npt???
