NICO'S bike gets a new home
NICO'S bike gets a new home
Well my 350 has gone to a new home in Bristol.
It is now with Chris aka Godspeed.
I had one last ride with her and Chris. Between me and you I had small tear in my piss pot as they rode off into the sunset.
Welcome to the club Chris, hope you got home in one piece.

Wow, if I had known it gripped the tarmac that well, I'll have bought it.

Re: NICO'S bike gets a new home
Thanks Nico, it was great to meet you!
Fairly long ride back down from Selby to Bristol, and the bike handled it all really well despite being laden with my bag, spare fuel tank, panniers and more!!!
Cheers guys, hope to meet you all soon!

Re: NICO'S bike gets a new home
My first off-road forray!
On Saturday I headed south of Bristol to find a green lane to try out. My first try ended in embarassment when i discovered that the lane had a substantial block in it to stop people riding down it. The lane was too small to turn around in and I wasn't confident enough to jump the block so had to slowly wheel my bike backwards all the way back down the lane, sweating and tripping on the loose gravel. Good job I had gone early in the morning so no-one got to see me.
Fortunately I did find a lane round the corner to ride down - great fun, a bit of mud and foliage, but nothing too substantial. Feeling confident I thought I'd ride up the lane from Upper Littleton to Dundry. I mean its marked as a lane on the maps so how hard can it be???
Strated out with some loose gravel, and then things got a bit tricky, at some points I was riding over loose stones 20cm round. I didn't fall off (though thats only cause I kept running into the side!!) and made it to Dundry unscathed.
I filmed it so you can see what a pickle I made!

Al I can say is that the bike was fantastic!!! Really, I've been on a high all weekend!!!!
Hope I can join you guys for some rides at some point soon!

Re: NICO'S bike gets a new home
Glad you have taken it to the place they like to be , but always best done in a group.
Bear in mind the advice about not riding green lanes alone. There are a few threads on those that have had a minor off, but either got very stuck or been lucky not to be injured without any assistance available. Can really spoil a good day out.

Thanks Derrick, yes I was fortunate to have not had any problems but could've been a very different story....
Will be taking a buddy with me in future... now where do I find one of those??
Anyone near Bristol???

Re: NICO'S bike gets a new home
I've been offroading for a lot of years and I'd never thought if trying to find a buddy until I joined this Club.
Then again a friend with a MP3 and a winch would come in very handy from time to time
Don't be put off, if you enjoy it do it.
Ta,
