There is not a large volume of fluid so I take the bleed nipple out and pump plenty of fluid through before putting the nipple back and bleeding using a tube and container with the surplus fluid in. It's a bit more wasteful but gets the air out.
Just keep an eye on the resevoir, if it runs out then you pump air back in
