Scotland is on my to do list & this sounds great. How long are you thinking of going for?
One idea could be to aim to be at John O'Groats on 8th September for the 110th anniversary of the first Harley Davidson prototype appearance in the State Fair Park race in Milwaukee.

would love to come along, just depends on the money situation, otherwise count me in. The last time I road up to Scotland was in the 70's on my Yamaha RD 200, just a lot faster than my MT

Be who you are and say what you feel because those that

Re: scotland 2014
I've been biking around Scotland many time. My advice is don't try to do too much in a day. 250 miles max. Take your time and have plenty of stops other wise you don't see much. Keep your tank topped up. Not many gas stations in the highlands. Book your accommodation in advance. That way it takes pressure off you and you can arrive late. Just ring ahead and let the hotel know what time you expect to arrive.
The best scenery and roads are on the West side. The East side is boring in comparison. If traveling down Loch Ness travel on the South side known has the Military road. It's alot quieter and pleasurable
Hope this helps
