Moscow John's Engine Rebuild

Post by Minter » Fri May 10, 2013 12:07 pm

Moscow John shipped a 350 down to me to strip down and check out...

All good so far not a bad little motor.. its not seen many oil changes and basically needs a decoke.. Valves are still nicely seated and rings are almost like new.. Clutch and sprag clutch check this afternoon....

Ring end gap is almost like new..

Locating dowel for clutch case has a bit cracked off which made its way to the sump..

Hi Eric, No this is out of Johns other bike.. It will be transplanted into the Moscow bike ready for the pyrenees, then the Moscow engine will be stripped and checked which should be interesting!

Yes indeed. It could give a good indication of the weaker areas/ areas that wear or don't wear.

Engine going back together nicely, hopefully tinypic will be working ok today!

Nope! no joy with tinypic today either!

Anyway sprag is as new, same as clutch all i had to do was file some very shallow grooves out of the basket..

The bottom end is all now done, just the topend to decoke and put back together tomorrow night..
