CV500 project
I went to see Woodruff the other day, and what a fine fellow he is .
His front garden was like a MT yard sale when I arrived.
After rummaging through a serious amount of boxes, like a magician pulling rabbits from a hat, he managed to locate most of the parts to rebuild a CV500. (He still had enough parts left over for about six more bikes I reckon).
He let me buy this (almost) bike from him because he thought it was going to a good home
Well I'm not so sure about that , but I promised to keep it black and white, and I am keen to do my best with the rebuild, though it is likely to take me some time.
I will be asking lots of questions - some of them pretty stupid no doubt- but you guys helped me through my last rebuild, so over the next months (and possibly years !) I shall be relying on you again - especially those of you with knowledge of the CV.
If anyone has photos of a CV frame with the battery box in situ, that would be a good place for me to start, as this frame has had some butchery along the way...

Right - I think I've just remembered how to post pictures - so here is the CV looking a little naked in my garden.
My new shed should have arrived this morning but it hasn't shown up yet - when it arrives i can sort out a proper workshop with a key on the door to stop the kids moving bits around

Decided it was time to make a start on this and took my engine to Prof Minter last week, he's going to work his magic on it and post some pictures.
I had a go at the plastics today - they had been painted black and green in the past, but cleaned up quite nicely with some Rustins Strypit and wire wool

A civilian version of mt500 , made for Sheffield parks ,plus others? Limit production, 50 ? Electric start. Produced in white.

Yeah, only thing the parks division got wrong was not adding a front disc brake - and I'm still undecided whether to keep this original or build it for practical use.
Anyone got a spare front disc set up from a 350 they want to sell cheaply for a good cause?!

Had a go at removing the steering bearings this morning in preparation for powder coating - I'd forgotten how much fun this is ! Got there in the end in a cloud of sparks and colourful language...
