Looking through some of the paperwork that came with my MT500 and I found MOD form 654 - 'APPLICATION FOR DISPOSAL OF A CAST VEHICLE'.
This appears to be the bikes release paperwork and has some interesting info on it:
From UNIT: 4 RGJ - presumably Royal Green Jackets ?
UIN: A3567A - dont know what this is ?
Region No. - No 6 London Dist.
It also shows its chassis number as 000992 with military registration number 92KD73 - date into service of 15/11/1985. It was disposed of 12 years later, with a minimal recorded mileage of 1383 miles.
Interesting stuff I thought ?
My bikes military history !

Re: My bikes military history !
Hi,the UIN is the Unit Identification Number. There is a list of all Army RAF and naval units in the world making things easier for the military. I will try to find out the details.

Hi Bestcraft
have been on holiday, hence the late response. See FAQ thread on Tracing your bikes history.
I recently posted how you can get information, but don't expect too much
Cheers

I'd like to find out the history on mine, but I don't want to stump up the Ă‚ÂŁ25 for the privilege.Wirralman wrote:Hi Bestcraft

4 RGJ is a TA unit:
4th(v)Bn Royal Green Jackets - formed from the remnants of the Rangers (KRRC), London Rifle Brigade, Tower Hamlets Rifles, Queens Westminsters, Queen Victoria's Rifles and Civil Service Rifles.
Now known as 7th Battalion, The Rifles. http://www.army.mod.uk/infantry/regiments/5980.aspx
Looks like it was not that far from where you are now.
