MT500 and her stable mates!

Post by TBM » Fri Feb 08, 2013 6:40 pm

I've already popped a picture in of my MT500 in projects, but I thought I'd stick some more here as well as the others in my collection. There's a prize for anyone who can guess what colour the MT is being painted..... ;)

My K75, affectionately known as the 'Shite Rider'

The ZX10 - scares the crap out of me on many occasions

My Kafe Racer - GS650 Katana

And the GL1000, currently awaiting recomissioning after an engine swap.

God I'd forgotten just how skinny the GS forks were

Very! Stripped the teeth on the crankshaft rear cog a couple of years ago (christ knows how). Due to the construction of these engines, stripping her right down and repairing was a massive job and beyond my financial ability.

Picked up a secondhand engine from ebay for Ă‚ÂŁ185. Turned out to be siezed solid and one of the bores was full of rust. Have spent hours fettling and trying to get her as smooth as possible. Stuck the engine in, and just need to pluck up the courage to start her up to see what she'll run like. I'm burying my head in the sand at the moment!

Worst case scenario I can a guaranteed running engine from DK's for about Ă‚ÂŁ400...

You sound just like my Mrs...... ;)

However, on my daily commute, I take the BMW, when I'm off to classic/rocker do's I take the Kafe Racer, if I want to go stupidly fast, I take the ZX10, when the inclement weather comes, I'll take the MT, if I want a cruise with the Mrs, I've got the GL1000 and that leaves the chop for bike club stuff.

Simples. :)
