Thank's. Yes they were made to be used, this is now my main transport, I don't have a Car, just 2 other Bikes, so it will be used quite a bit. Paul.

No I thought that but the way they are made you can't close the main flap propperly if you close the others first, I think they were designed to keep water out, they work aswell , after Friday's downpour they were as dry as a Limeburner's Clog inside, I would love a pair of the original Canvas/Flax ones though but they appear to be like Hen's Teeth.

I think if you check out ex army 58 pattern canvas bags on ebay you may find something suitable. the price seems to rocket if you search for canvas panniers.......
Other auction sites and surplus stores may also stock such items ;) ;)
