a neglected mt
a neglected mt
Hi
this is my first complete mt rebuild, ive done some partial ones but never delved deep into the depths, i got this bike of ebay a couple of months back and just got round to carefuly dismantling it haha no hammers involved honest it was described as ceased even the weel hubs were, the guy who sold it had to cut the chain off in order to load it up.
in the end after many hours of hitting the piston with a block of wood i left it soaking in diesel for a few weeks which seemed to do the trick even the valves cleaned up with a bit of emery cloth. i hope to have it finished and back on the road by the end of the summer hols

My first impressions?
OH MY GOD!
You've got a lot of work cut out for you there our fellow MT'er.
Wish you all the best.....you can do it.
Mine was not that much different when I got it from Withams....Now looks like a bike.
Have fun!!

Re: a neglected mt
Hell, that was in a shocking state.
Good work for putting it back on the road instead of taking the easy option & breaking it for parts.
Cheers,
Paul.
