I have got a bit more done today. :D
I have cleaned and primed the petrol tank again. I just need to check that the leak has been sealed. Then I can repaint it.
Also my new reg/rec arrived. :D
I have reused the connectors because the fitted wires are a bit on the short side. Only took me 15 mins.

I connected it up to the bike and it was holding a steady 14.8v. I am going to make a stainless steel mounting bracket so that I can keep the original mounting holes.
I am getting there :P

Yep it is Freddy. Good spot by you. I just want to make a bracket to mount it, because I don't want to drill the head light cowl. Also I can bring the wires underneath the unit without it being pressed up against the underside the cowl. :D

Have had it running today, but the headers were glowing cherry red. Had the mixture screw set from 1 1/2 to 3 turns out. Rechecked valve clearances and timing. Going to change the carb to manifold rubber tomorrow. Is there anything else to check?
