 Cheers chaps!

I'll let you know how it all performs in the week. Some say it should be tested under load, but i'll be happy to hear it running and make sure there are no oil leaks. Im thinking of adding some old triple clamps and bars to mount the throttle and a clutch lever. Then it can be easily flat packed till the next test. Ive used a quick release gadget for the oil line flow.

I'll have to give Mel the engine stand back as its his but i'm making one from wood as designed by TDI pete!

Pete Low wrote:Thanks guys. I only made it out of such hefty angle because its what I had to hand.
The resulting weight does help to steady the engine as you work on it, especiallywhen tightening or undoing the bigger nuts & bolts.

Likewise for my wooden creation. I would have used steel angle if I had had any but had made a load of shelving with what I had had in stock.

Count me in then Steve.. Can I have one using the front lower mount and swing arm mount? I want to use the higher front engine mount to bolt half a front shoe to the engine. That way the frame should be secure..

That's the route I was going for as well. I want to build a rig like you have for oil as well. If anyone has a frame section I am interested!

Good news! The engine test rig works a treat, thanks for lending me that old MZ motor to test it with Mel! Oh and the 500e ran sweet as well! Sounded awesome especially when the centre section fell off! Mel was on throttle cable duty and kept her ticking over nicely!

Mr Shiney is making a bespoke engine stand to allow a full swing on the kicker! Which should help starting!

Its quite weird to see an engine sat on a stand ticking over!

Hope you get it in the frame ok Mel and it runs as good with the Harley carb as it did with the old amal!
