If you're doing Normandy you really want to be doing it around the 6th june, it adds an extra dimension to the trip having all the military vehicles on the roads and reinactors camps set up everywhere.

2014 will be the 70th anniversary so will probably be very busy.

Take your point of doing it on the memorial weekend. Would be nice if possible although next year rather than 2014 or both :-)
