Been doing some recce for the Wye Valley Weekend today and because Phil (arceye) asked so nicely last year we have found some nice rocky steps to dwarf what was on offer last year.

Here's video showing about a third of it, I have to say I'm glad that Steve was with me because I doubt I would have got up there other wise.

We also found some pretty good other trails over by Usk to improve what's on offer.

That's a lie!!

It'll be on the hard route probably about half way round as it's a a fair way away from the scout hut.

Route update:

I shall be leading two rides during the weekend one for the early arrivals on friday and I shall also be leading a HARD route on the saturday.

At the moment we are short on guides for medium and easy routes especially now that pirate has gone and injured himself again and Franc's growing issues with his hands mean that he may or may not be able to ride. What I shall be providing is OS maps marked up with lanes catergorised green/blue/red/black like ski runs so that hopefully some of you will be able to guide your selves. I know Alex (throb) offered his services and gps as a guide when I bumped into him at the Adventure Travel Film Festival last weekend.

The details for the rides that I shall be organising are:

Friday:
Start Time: 12:00 (midday)
Start Place: My house
- Please note: this is a good half hour away from the campsite in park end and is actually in Bristol, for those that wish to come on the ride out before arriving in parkend but do not wish to trail ride fully loaded, stuff can be stored in my garage while we ride.
- I don't particularally wish to put my exact address details on the website those that wish to come on the friday ride please PM me and I'll send them back via pm (however I live not far from the A4 on the heading out of bristol towards bath.
- I intend this run to be about 4 or 5 hours and in my opinion the lanes are medium.

Saturday
Start Time: 9:30am (estimated once every one has had breakfast)
Start Place: Beaver Lodge (the campsite)
This will be an all day run aiming to be back at Beaver lodge around 5ish taking in the most technical lanes in the area. you do not have to sign up for this in advance but places are limited (8 maximum) as some of the lanes do not have areas suitable for large groups of bikes to congregate at the ends. Although this will be an advanced run I am not an advanced rider so we will not be flying up rock stair cases at 100mph (sorry minter), So don't be scared off coming in this group if you want to test your skills as team work may be required on some sections (please see the video i posted earlier, that is the most difficult part of this run).
