my mt500 with a few mods
Re: my mt500 with a few mods
thanks for the response. yes the airbox is gone and replaced with a genuine k&n filter. the front forks are marzocchi harley 350 ones which are actually a couple of inches longer than the original 500 ones and don't have the air valve on top. i think the bike still sits at the same height once sat on. basically it's now got a complete 350 front end (forks, wheel, caliper, master cylinder etc) and all new except the wheel which was second hand. i really don't want to spend any more on it though i expect i will!! i bought the bike with the intention of not giving a sh*t about it, just grease it up and ride it , but i'm having to accept that it's not in my nature to be so heartless. she certainly won't be getting a smart paint job though!!!

also forgot to ask about my rear shocks. they're ohlins single spring types. are they 350 ones? as i thought the 500 had the ones with 2 springs?? the bike is quite tall and i was lead to believe the standard 500 shocks are a bit shorter. i'm 5'11 and the height is fine though i wouldn't want it any taller.

MT500 single spring + valvealso forgot to ask about my rear shocks. they're ohlins single spring types. are they 350 ones? as i thought the 500 had the ones with 2 springs?? the bike is quite tall and i was lead to believe the standard 500 shocks are a bit shorter
MT350 dual spring, longer than MT500, no valve OR single spring same length as MT500, no valve. The dual spring is the most commonly found fitment to the MT350
