Introducing... The MT350 'Lowrider' !

Post by viki » Thu Jul 02, 2009 12:27 pm

:D :D :D :D Finally I can sit on the Colonel with ease, the 13.5" shocks fit a treat, all I've got to do now is get the side stand shortened or find a shorter one. I don't really want to hack anything off as I'd like to keep all the original fittings as they are, so any suggestions as to what's best are very welcome.

Still waiting on the plate number to come before I can ride it though, but at least I'm a little bit closer now :D :D :D

oh..and thanks so much for all the advice... you lot Rock! and so does my bike now

Yes the seat looks really stylish as well as being cut down for practical purposes.

Looking good Viki, glad you got the shocks sorted.

As Lowuk says, dont worry about cutting a couple of inches off the side stand as it can be welded back or you could find another one to keep in your box of bits. Do weld a plate on the bottom once its been cut to stop it sinking in soft ground and it'll help when fishing for it with your foot(yet to do my wifes) I have fitted a bolt/stub part way up the stand to make it easier to get at.

Not only have you got your bike sorted, you've also washed the dishes !

Having read the unfolding saga over the past weeks, I'm pleased to see that you have triumphed in the end.

Hope you have fun riding your unique (?) machine.

Best wishes

Viki,

At some time you may wish to change the tyres to more road friendly ones if that is your intended use, it'll smooth the ride out no end, those knobblies can be a bit rough on the road.

Looks great - you'd better not go over too many bumps though, you might wear through the seat with the tyre!

You don't need a parachute to skydive. You only need a parachute to skydive twice.

It does make you think that that might happen but I've got the same set up on my wifes MT which I ride quite often and at 17 stone I haven't bottomed it out yet that is why I was confident in recommending these shocks to 5'2" Viki.
