Re: my rebuild
Wrong thread Matt! I'm sure the Mods will move it! Speak to rustybike aircraft electrician! He's starting something along those lines! Plenty of work to go around i'd have thought!mtt.tr wrote:If there is enough interest in wiring looms for the mt500 i would be happy to make up a couple for cost i would if i was supplied with an mt350 wiring loom be happy to copy that

Re: my rebuild
the story continues.
finally got the engine in the bike and it runs, sort of.
the engine was in the rat bike i bought locally, the chap told me it ran ok, but never heard it myself. it was in a very sorry state.
picture 1. that might interest you chizler
anyway, engine stripped, clutch, head cylider/barrell. all seemed reasonable. all cleaned up.
decoked head, valves lapped in, clutch cleaned and measured, all within spec, basket de-grooved. all new seals, gaskets and stainless fittings.
spent a couple of weeks removing most of the paint and white powder substance, green mould etc
then 2 x coats of black engine enamel paint. looks ok, i'll have to see how well it lasts.
unable to load pictures, will try again later.
regards

Re: my rebuild
George, somehow I had managed to miss this thread. All looking very good. I think time and good preparation go a very long way to the overall result above just what you spend - Oh and shiney stainless bits.
