MarkW as I said in the post, the only over-heating problem was a tear in the carb to engine hose.

The engine got a little hot in the ride out and the rubber tore, but it was 30degrees outside and the ride out was going at about 5-10mph for about an hour or so.

Any easy fix with a spare though.

P.S. I did see a video on youtube where a bloke had installed what looked like a carbon fibre hose. That could be the answer.

Good adventure, good write up. Makes it sound so tempting.

Raoul

loved your write up and the images. It is good to discover Club members like yourself who have that spirit of adventure. I recognised those gates immediately! Two years ago nearing the end of a trip around the Carpathian mountains I had called to see the Guzzi museum only to discover that the factory was closed, a holiday!

Dave,

I'm sorry to hear you missed the factory visit.

In case your interested in what you see on the tour...

You need special permission to go on the factory floor (i.e. buy an expensive bike) but they have an incredible exhibition of bikes open to the public.
It's three floors of bikes all lined up with commercial bikes on the left and racing/service bikes on the right.
See the pics below.

Wish I could find a screen and hand guards like the Paris - Dakar model for my MT350 :-(
