Re: stafford thanks
Thanks for a great weekend. It is a pleasure to have cooked for you.
Got home safe. Went motorway very windy at a 60 degree lean.
I have just asked the wife if I can do North Wales and I have a Pass out. If you need me to cook wont be a problem.
Chris

Re: stafford thanks
A very big Thank you from me The all event was very well organised. The food and beers were excellent. A special thanks there to Drifter and Mell
Me, Nick and Tony rode back together as far has Uttoxeter. Where Tony departed for the Motorway. Me n Nick battled very high cross winds over the Derbyshire hills. One small incident. The cross wind was so fierce we had to lean and steer into it to keep a straight line at 30mph. When an impatient driver of a lorry tractor unit over took very close at about 50mph. I hadn't seen him till he was along side, where he blocked the wind for a moment and caused me to veer towards him. That sh*t me I can tell ya
We stopped for a brew at the highest cafe in England. Nick was afraid his bike would blow off the stand..

Re: stafford thanks
Thanks to Mel and Simon for putting it all together, and to all those that braved the weather to get there and back.
Watching Drifter catering for 60 in the field has added to my knowledge. Watching him getting it all together with the tools provided was amazing.
Made it home in good time. Expect for the last few miles, the rain was not a problem but the gusty wind made for an interesting ride. Made the mistake of stopping for a cuppa when I topped up with fuel and got caught in a tremendous downpour 15 miles from home, then got of the bike and the sun came out
Good to meet a few more members, slowly putting names to faces (but now at an age where I forget then the next time we meet

Well done to Simon for arranging the event, Mel for his recent club acquisitions and getting in our provisions, and thanks to Chris for doing a superb job in the kitchen, backed up by Derrick, Gary Worz and others, Franc and Gary999 for the tentage without which we would struggled to enjoy ourselves in the conditions.
I thought it was tremendous to see so many bikes and put yet more faces to names. I thought everyone really worked well together, helping with tent pitching , dismantling supplying and dispensing drinks.
It was good to see so many people chatting to the puiblic, raising our awareness, although I overheard one grump say to his mate as they walked away "Awful, they should put prices on them"- I don't think he quite got the idea of a club display.
Also nice for Nick from Force to bring his pristine USMT500 for us all to see, and to be able to have a chat with him. I know he spoke to quite a few people and was willing to give advice - a busman's holiday for him.
The weather overnight Saturday and Sunday daytime presented a challenge to those who elected to go home on the Sunday. Hopefully everyone got home safely without too many dramas.
I look forward to next year's Stafford Big Meet.
Eric

Hello chaps!
What a weekend!
Thank you for making me so welcome; it was a real pleasure to meet you all.
Chris and Mel deserve a gold star for all the catering stuff, and I can't imagine how much work goes into making this all happen. Thank you to everyone involved.
Not sure who it was who gave me the cigar, but you're a very bad man for it!
We drove home in torrential rain, with moose passing us at some point. We've got everything all sorted now, and I feel almost human again now that I've had a deep bath and changed into some clean clothes!
Special thanks to chiseler and drifter for the scintillating conversation and the rare slow dance! Throb's dancing skills pale into insignificance next to his engineering ones...
See you next time, assuming Throb builds an ark in time!
