Re: Project MT500 Twinshock Motorcrosser
More engine work for the 500 whilst the frame is being painted. It looked worse than it acutally is, rust is just on the surface and should all clean up nice. It looked like a good motor before it went for a swim!
Any good ideas for removing the exhaust studs? Ive tried heat.. now soaking in wd40 and gt85 till tomorrow! Thats enough tinkering for one evening!

Re: Project MT500 Twinshock Motorcrosser
Give the exhaust studs a few sharp but CAREFUL taps on the end as well to help break any oxidation in the thread , and if you weld a nut on the end but try and over weld it so it gets really hot(like you wouldn't if were welding it properly) it should help free them up (you can also squirt some oil/freeing agent on them whilst still hot and it will creep in better but beware it may go on fire and will stink)

Re: Project MT500 Twinshock Motorcrosser
We would normanley use a stud extractor 1/2 drive that goes around the stud and an air gun that shocks the stud free from the manifold but that is on a car manifold
