This is deffinatley an MT CV560 supplied to the Forestry Commission and some Police Forces (for 'unmarked' work). I have been in contact over the years with a guy who has another the same, his frame number is 000016, see pic below:

See the engine guard, its the same as the 500 but the mounting tags on the top slope down, on the 500 they slope upwards. It is parts of one of these that Digger will inherit shortly from me.

You don't need a parachute to skydive. You only need a parachute to skydive twice.

Yes this is just the same :)

So i'm guessing if this is the same then my engine is a 560 ?

If so will this cause any major problems, etc....for example like not being able to get a front wheel etc?

I will attempt to ride up to the Uttoxeter meeting on the 4th or 5th also.

But thats been really helpfull Bunker, nice to know im not alone :)

I have just looked and very hard to tell, im guessing 23, but because its worn it looks as 22 maybe?
Is this important to know?

As im not a great mechanic, i get very confused by any mechanical talk etc, so i have someone measuring the Pistons and such to work out the size of the engine..........

Also i do need a set of Gaskets for the engine etc, will this be the same for the bike even if its a 560?

Im guessing LMS are good for these also??

By the way thanks to everyone for the response , it does help that you all know what your doing (unlike me )

I just checked the records and of course our very own Phil Gun has one also, Im sure he wont mind me saying but he's is frame 14! The engine numbers are sequential too so deffinitely all the same batch and original.

I think that contract number shown is still 22B as the plate still carries the MT500 wording.

Ok, as im not a great mechanic etc.... I had my dear Old Man strip the whole bike apart , and whilst doing this put new Head Gasket in , Belt, Filters, and so on.

The first thing is that the Engine is a 500, and not a 560.
All the replacement parts i had were from LMS and all fitted perfect, except the new chain and sprockets fitted great but the front sprocket is now one tooth less than the original on there .
The exhaust was a bit worse for wear so that was brased up.

The bike feels alot better to ride now.

I will try and get up to Uttoxeter on the saturday, but will be up late as i do work until 3pm on sat. I guess i can just turn up and find the MT area ?

a 500? you sure? If you email the engine number to Peter Knight, he will give you all the info on it. Turns out mine is a 604 not a 500!!
