Gents, I know he broke his leg and was waiting for an attractie female paramedic to come and start cutting his trousers off, but is that an excuse for leaving the MT lying on its side the whole time...................... priorities!

having wrapped myself in enough protection to do a good impression of the Michelin Man, it was gutting to fall off at the first sign of mud ... a deadly combination of no off roading experience, rain and road tyres left me floundering almost instantly. I fell off within seconds, remounted and did it twice more. I think my bike had thoughts of facing a cold bucket of water and a grubby sponge and point blank refused to forgive my utter lack of skill on the slidy stuff. Watching the others make it up the hill and hearing their engines in the distance as I heaved my bike off me in the sludge was a moment I wont recall with too much joy ! On the bright side, it looks like my bruised ego was a small price to pay given what happened further on up the track. Hope Richard recovers soon ... at least bones mend ... fragile ego's can takes months to repair ... I'm already telling myself it happened at 60 mph as I jumped a 2m rock and landed ( after clearing 50 buses in front of a cheering crowd ). Regrettably, a had an audience of two worms and a large puddle ... none of them were impressed ! :D

To be fair you were thrown in the deep end with that first black run lane. Get some suitable tyres fitted, and me n Nick will take you on some green runs. [I'm using ski pistes colour rating here. Green, Blue, Black & double Black] I think its a good way of describing lanes

This was my first outing with the MTriders and eventful it certainly was. The lanes chosen were brilliant as was the company, we have been promised the same route in better weather which is something to look foreward to. It could not have been wetter and I had a job seeing through the snow blizard with a steamed up visor and wet glasses but still enjoyed it. I was impressed by the way everyone rallied round when Richard had his mishap and suspect a bigger mishap would happen when his wife found out. You have my sympathy. Thanks to Glen, Nick and everyone for a good day out. Trevor
