UK Horizon Hubb 2012 date

Post by DSG » Mon Oct 03, 2011 1:37 pm

For those members who enjoy travelling by bike on the more adventurous roads, so to speak. You may be interested in having a look at next year's UK Horizon Hubb meeting to be held at Ripley, Derbyshire July 5th - 8th 2012.
I went there for the first time last June, along with 600 other bikers and there was a full programme from talks on visas to surviving on road kill, other rider's tales to bike riding technique, luggage choice to repairs at the roadside etc etc.
It's a camping weekend on a site with good food / beer, showers etc.
Several trade stands - alloy panniers, expedition equipment.

So they haven't all got GS's then. (meaning that they do break down but are not repairable at the roadside :D )

Very nice.

Triumphs and GS's, they are what my companions have used on several european trips whilst I have been on my MT outfit.
Oh how they initially laughed when they saw the MT amongst their Ă‚ÂŁ15000 outfits. The Tiger 955/Wasp outfit was recovered twice as was the GS two wheel drive outfit and the Bonnie once while little old cheapy MT has never failed.

How smug am I?

....When I was 18, I hitch-hiked to Yugoslavia (my first solo travel adventure).....I remember meeting a bloke who'd ridden from the UK on a PUCH 50cc twist & go....I was so jealous.....It was quite a fanny magnet!!....
