Northants report / thanks

OK, I'll set the ball rolling:
Special thanks to Shiney for organising the weekend and Kawasaki Rich for allowing us to knacker his field up!
It was good to meet the boys from the South West (Lardmarc, Skippy 1970 and Surfer Mick)
Not everything went smoothly but if it did we'd have nothing to talk about.
I think we totalled about 8 punctures, 1 broken chain and 1 unco-operative kick start. Countless spills, some spectacular offs but all harmless because the Northamponshire mud was plentiful, soft and very inviting.
Geoff Barnett tried bog-snorkelling in a ditch and his team had trouble pulling him out - mainly due to laughing too much.
I'm sure there will be some photos posted soon but the 2 photos I wish I'd caught was Sally's face after hitching a lift on the back of Minter's Blue through a particularly boggy patch. She was excited and frightened in equal measure. The second one was Surfer Mick having to slow down while a herd of about 20 Roe Deer crossed his path - pure magic, you don't see that every day!
The rescue vehicle broke down with 2 bikes on it's trailer. Fortunately Lardmarc knows his Land Rovers and he came to our rescue (he doesn't look much like a shite in nineing armour though), and it took Shiney and Thumper almost 2 hours to get Roy's Transit off the field on Saturday night which scuppered the plans for the Indian restaurant.
Getting off the field Sunday morning was a lesson in teamwork and it was great to see that no-one bugged out early until we were sure everyone was out safely. It took a combination of pushing, slipping and Shiney's Land Rover to clear the field. I haven't worked that hard for years!
I don't know if Rich's neighbours will want us there again because we left half the field on the road. If we had dryer ground there wouldn't have been a problem.
Thanks to everyone that went for yet another memorable MT weekend.
Steve.
