Hi

Finished stripping down the MT350e ?, do the steering frame bearing guides/racers need removing from the frame, if so what is the easiest / safest way of removing them.

Regards

Joth

Yes they do if you are going to powder coat. I use a drift to knock them out from either side. To put the new ones back in I have a tool that George (P.I Stalker) made for me which makes light work of the job. I use a press but if you a re careful you can use the drift with a lump hammer.

Why are you looking to remove them? only remove them if you have to, don't just take them out for the hell of it.

Shiney quote "I seem to recall him asking for contacts for powder coaters. If you put them through the oven with the cups in, the surfaces become glazed which is seemingly impossible to remove and stops the bearings running properly."

If it's going to the powder coaters they should come out, some coaters I dealt with have put tape on the cups in hubs although begrudgingly because no matter how well you clean it greases and oils will always creep out with the oven temperature and can/will effect the finish. As said no trouble no remove them, I just couldn't understand why you wanted to as there was no mention of why? It's a bit like second guessing a woman.
