originally i thought the caliper was seated a little too far to one side

the wheel is on correct with the correct spacer and new pads and discs so not much room and looks like the pad is just touching the disc on one side

will have a closer look later when home from work

When you push the bike forward can you hear the the pad rubbing/does it bind the wheel up?

yes can hear it rubbing a little, will just go round the block when sprocket is on (very slow) to see how it is

Well on my little bike the front pad is always just touching so as long as it isnt binding i wouldnt worry
